THE Jesus And Mary Chain and The Psychedelic Furs will open their 2027 co-headline tour at Leeds O2 Academy on January 19.

Masterminded by East Kilbride brothers Jim and William Reid in 1983, The Jesus And Mary Chain transformed alternative music with their noisy, feedback-heavy yet melodic sound, announced by their influential 1985 debut Psychocandy.
From their chaotic performances to their distinctive style, the Scottish siblings inspired the shoegaze genre. Reuniting in 2007, The Jesus And Mary Chain have continued to tour and record, releasing their Top Ten-charting eighth studio album, Glasgow Eyes, in 2024.

Formed by brothers Richard and Tim Butler in London in 1977, The Psychedelic Furs redefined the meaning of punk and art rock. Landmark 1981 album Talk Talk Talk brought major recognition, topped by the single Pretty In Pink featuring in John Hughes’s 1986 film of the same title.
The Furs reunited after a 1990s’ hiatus and have continued touring and recording, releasing Made Of Rain in 2020.
The Jesus And Mary Chain and The Psychedelic Furs toured together previously in the United States in 2024. Their 2027 travels will take in Leeds O2 Academy, January 19; Edinburgh Usher Hall, January 20; Glasgow O2 Academy, January 22; Manchester Academy, January 23; Bristol Beacon, January 25; Birmingham O2 Academy, January 26; Brighton Dome, January 28, and London British Airways ARC, January 29.
